Risley's Island and/or Spanish Ship Bay

On these great introductory tours, we explore the protected and sheltered waters of Liscombe Harbour and/or Spanish Ship Bay. After a quick on-shore lesson covering the basics we will paddle past an old island homestead foundation and learn some of the fascinating history and natural history of the area. Seals and sea birds are often seen on this tour.

Its a perfect trip for beginners, families and travelers on a tight time schedule.

Liscombe Harbour

Calm evenings provide perfect conditions for a peaceful paddle in the Liscomb Harbour. We will take an evening tour of the Harbour, catch the soft dusk lighting, and watch the sunset. A wonderful way to end your day!

Sunset tours of Liscombe Harbour are offered on request on select evenings.

• Beginners are welcome. An introductory lesson is given on all tours covering the boat, basic paddling techniques and safety on the water.
• Safety is our number one priority at Atlantic Explorers, however there are some inherent risks in sea kayaking. Clients participate at their own risk and are required to sign a waiver.
• For youth:
  • Trips are suited for youth 6 years and older.
  • Youth between the ages of 6 and 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver on their behalf.
  • Those 17 or 18 years old must have a parent or guardian sign a waiver on their behalf.
• According to demand, either half-day or full day tours are offered.
• Weather, sea-state, and group ability influence tour itineraries.
• We provide high quality kayaks and all other necessary equipment for our trips. We suggest you bring water shoes, a hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, water, and an extra set of dry warm clothes. A camera and binoculars are nice too.
• All tour groups meet at Liscombe Lodge Marina.
